Commissioners introduce and defer proposed bylaws edits; attendance policy language favored

At the March 18 meeting, the Hillsdale City Planning Commission moved several procedural changes and introduced proposed edits to its bylaws.
Early in the meeting, Commissioner Winter successfully moved to amend the agenda to add a discussion of proposed amended language for sections I–III of the bylaws to New Business; Commissioner Coykendall seconded and the motion carried. Commissioner Morrisey also moved to amend the minutes from the Feb. 18 meeting to remove the adjective 'vague' from a description of a public comment; that motion also carried.
Under Old Business, the commission reviewed modified attendance-policy language proposed by Chairman Laycock and expressed general support for the edits. Members agreed that, once the entire bylaws package has been reviewed, there will be a final opportunity to make minor edits before the proposed changes are forwarded to City Council. Commissioner Winter later introduced the edits to sections I–III but the commission agreed to delay further debate to allow more thorough review.
No formal vote on the bylaws themselves occurred at the meeting; the commission agreed to return to the matter at a future session after additional review.
