Warren Township fire officers prepare to support Morocco soccer team amid CAD and dispatch gaps

Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department officers met June 3 to review public-safety coordination ahead of a visit by a Morocco soccer team and to address gaps in communications technology. Police Sergeant Task said the State Police will have primary control of the event and the township fire department will be ready to respond and use its training facility if needed.
The meeting flagged a technical problem with the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system after an update. "CAD info is not pulling info to relay to the FD for both reporting and calls," Aram Kachidurian, the department reporting lead, told the meeting, and Sgt. Task said he would email dispatch and include Aram to arrange a test run. Attendees urged that dispatch provide more specific directions during incident responses based on a recent call that exposed the shortcoming.
Staff also reviewed short-term road impacts tied to utility work: Stirling Road has had intermittent closures since June 1 with a planned closure near Rolf’s, and a tentative full Stirling Road closure is scheduled Aug. 3–16; paving on Mountainview Road is scheduled for June 8. Officers were reminded to report any burn injuries to the Fire Official for required state paperwork.
Chief Russo said a special alarm plan is in effect from the meeting date through Aug. 1; final copies for an alarm plan at 200 Liberty Corner Road will be distributed to assistant chiefs when available. The chief also instructed mutual-aid crews that they will receive full briefings on arrival and asked personnel to avoid asking multiple operational questions over the radio during mutual-aid responses.
The changes come as the department coordinates support roles for multiple summer events, and as officials work to resolve CAD-related gaps that could affect response clarity.
