State says County Connector Trail cannot cross preserved Tranquillity Farms, committee hears

Chairman Louis Caruso told the Open Space Advisory Committee on March 4, 2026, that the State Agriculture Development Committee has expressed that it will not permit the County Connector Trail to cross preserved Tranquillity Farms.
Caruso said Linda Gloshinski of The Land Conservancy contacted David Zaback of the State Agriculture Development Committee to ask about extending the trail onto the preserved farmland. "Although there will be no impact on the farming operations, the State's opinion is that the trail would not be permitted on the agricultural operation," Caruso reported, and the committee discussed other route and expansion options.
The committee did not take formal action on the trail at the meeting. Members discussed possible alternatives for expansion but did not identify a preferred route or timeline. The committee will consider the issue further under old business at a future meeting.
