Parker council approves regional JRT MOU, renews chamber agreement and votes to enter executive session

Police leadership summarized the MOU for the La Paz County Justice Response Team, saying the agreement formalizes collaboration among Parker Police, Colorado River Regional Crisis Services, La Paz County Sheriff, the county attorney, Courtside Police Department and La Paz Regional Hospital to support prosecution, victim services and grant applications. The chief described the MOU as a housekeeping agreement that does not cost the town money but helps agencies with grant competitiveness.
Council approved a two-year program services agreement with the Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce and Tourism for $48,000 annually, funded by bed-tax revenue. The record notes Bridal Daniels recused herself from the vote and the recusal will be recorded in the minutes.
Finally, the council voted to enter executive session under Arizona law to discuss a common-interest and confidentiality agreement between the town, Joint Venture and the Colorado River Indian Tribes and to receive legal advice and negotiation direction; the council also added a second item to that executive session and approved both items for closed-door discussion.
