County awards $65,000 lobbyist contract to R and R Solutions LLC

Dorchester County's council approved awarding its lobbyist services contract to R and R Solutions LLC, a selection councilmembers who reviewed proposals described as the most responsive to county needs.
Councilmember S4, who led the recommendation, said the firm's grant-writing background and local knowledge made it the best fit. "I think that their proactive, work on grants, their hands on approach ... and in-depth knowledge of the shore in Dorchester County ... makes it the most responsive bid," S4 said.
The council discussed notifying unsuccessful bidders and agreed to review the firm's performance after a year. Staff listed other respondents including R and R Solutions LLC, Johnny Pica Junior LLC, Fiasco Consulting LLC and Cornerstone Government Affairs Inc. The contract will be funded from the FY27 contingency fund and the council discussed a $65,000 allocation.
Outcome: the motion to proceed with R and R Solutions LLC carried by voice vote; councilmembers said they will evaluate whether the cost is justified after one year.
