The motion was made by Council member Weber and seconded by Council member Muns. Chief Liggins told the council the building has already conveyed to a new ownership group and will be leased to the new operators. “They are seeking a B1 liquor license with a 2AM late night permit,” Chief Liggins said, noting the Liquor Control Commission voted in favor of the application after reviewing the background check and that the business will complete a small build‑out while obtaining a state license.
Council members asked only about timing; Chief Liggins said staff had been working with the ownership group to fast‑track the matter but that the state liquor license must be secured before reopening. A roll call vote returned unanimous 'yes' and the mayor announced the motion carried.
The license approval allows the new operator to pursue required state approvals and to complete interior work before reopening under the Trinita name. The council did not discuss additional conditions or restrictions beyond the standard permitting and state licensing requirements.
