Council to hear engineering presentation on sewer lining; joint bidding with Freeman and neighboring towns planned

Budget figures discussed were preliminary: the committee member said the town has roughly $400,000 budgeted next year for projects, about $150,000 earmarked for aeration at the lagoons, and maintenance totals of approximately $664,308. The member described a rough engineering fee of about $50,000 and emphasized prioritizing aeration for the lagoons before larger lining work.
Councilors agreed to ask the firm to present at the mid-September meeting so members can evaluate scope, costs and whether to include additional line-work or manhole rehabilitation in the bid package. Staff and council emphasized the need to get quotes and advertise bids early to attract contractors.
