Speaker 2 presented each resolution in turn. On the kayak rental permit, Speaker 2 said the action renews a permit that is expiring; a staff member confirmed the resolution renews the existing terms.
The board approved clarification of Stacy Simmons’s appointment to the tree committee after staff identified that an end date was omitted from the original paperwork; the person who brought the omission to staff’s attention received thanks from Councilman Muneer, who described it as an oversight.
Speaker 2 also announced the cancellation of the Aug. 4 town board meeting because a board member reported a scheduling conflict with a community night-out event.
The board scheduled a public informational meeting for Sept. 15 to discuss a proposed walking path connecting Clifton Common to Lace Lane through Calico Colony after several residents raised concerns about construction that began earlier in the month. A resident said the later September date was chosen to avoid the Labor Day holiday so more people could attend.
The board approved a promotion for Jacob Panicha, who completed required facilitator certifications and will join the Collins Park adventure challenge course staff as a facilitator, enabling additional programming in the fall.
Grasshopper Heating and Cooling sought a mass-gathering permit for an August fundraising event on the common. A company representative said the town is waiting on two outstanding items before the permit can be finalized.
For the Riverview Field acquisition, staff told the board the town is taking title to the 32-acre property and must submit a property boundary survey to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as part of the grant closeout; staff recommended hiring the lowest qualified bidder to complete the survey.
Speaker 2 asked for a motion to approve the resolutions; one board member moved and the board voted by voice, answering 'Aye.' The chair declared the motion carried. A motion to adjourn followed and the meeting ended.
