The Ladue City Council unanimously adopted a Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) voluntary buyout policy (Resolution 2026-20) on June 15 and approved a companion resolution (2026-21) outlining property restrictions for FMA buyouts and identifying a project manager.
During Public Works discussion, staff reported that, after council direction at a prior meeting, they contacted the homeowner at 7 Trails End to ask whether the owner would contribute toward acquisition costs. Staff said the homeowner indicated willingness to contribute approximately $40,000, described as an estimate of likely closing costs. Council discussed the update but made no motion to proceed; no formal acquisition action was taken at the meeting.
The council also approved related stormwater and grant actions, including an inter-agency OMCI Stormwater Reimbursement Program agreement with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (Resolution 2026-22) and the submission for Municipal Park Grant Program funding for Deer Creek Preserve Phase 2 (Resolution 2026-23). A supplemental agreement with Horner and Shifrin for engineering services on S. 40 Drive shared use path design was also approved (Resolution 2026-24).
