Finance Committee approves transfers for Wiberg study, Clover Hill repaving and conference center equipment

The Brookfield Finance Committee on July 21 approved several budget transfers and routine items, including a $35,000 transfer to fund a study of the Wiberg Aquatic Center and an $18,000 transfer to cover Brookfield's share of a repaving agreement for Clover Hill Road with the Village of Elm Grove. The committee also approved funding to replace video projection equipment at the Brookfield Conference Center and authorized vouchers exceeding $50,000 requiring immediate action. Motions carried unanimously.

Alderman Bob Reddin moved to approve the parks budget amendment to transfer $35,000 from contingency account 07001700-590000 to Parks, Recreation and Forestry expenditure account 05032006-560000 to fund the Wiberg Aquatic Center study; Alderman Mike Hallquist seconded and the motion passed 7-0. Alderman Chris Blackburn then moved to approve a Public Works budget amendment transferring $18,000 from contingency (07001700-590000) to Public Works outlay account 04500009-606000 to fund the City's portion of an agreement with the Village of Elm Grove for Clover Hill Road repaving; Alderman Hallquist seconded and the motion passed 7-0.

Separately, the committee approved a resolution authorizing funding for replacement video projection equipment at the Brookfield Conference Center on a motion by Alderman Mike Hallquist, seconded by Alderman Bob Reddin; that motion passed 7-0. Earlier in the meeting the committee also approved the minutes of the June 16, 2026 meeting and authorized vouchers exceeding $50,000, each by unanimous votes. All three budget amendments were funded from the 2026 General Fund contingency appropriation, as described in the motions.

The committee took no roll-call debate on program details during the meeting; each budget amendment was presented as a resolution with account numbers and the stated purposes, and all motions were approved without amendment. The meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
