Wasco City Council unanimously adopts salary-schedule correction, election-services amendment and telecom-contract amendment

At its regular meeting, the Wasco City Council unanimously approved three administrative resolutions covering personnel, election administration and a citywide telecommunications service agreement.
Staff presented an amended salary schedule that corrects the salary range for a water-supervisor classification (listed as range 46 in the corrected schedule after previously being shown as range 44). "The salary schedule presented for council review tonight includes the amended salary for the non-exempt classification of water supervisor," staff said. The council asked for no further comment and approved the resolution by roll-call vote.
Council then considered an administrative amendment to an existing resolution to add language required by the Elections Code. The amendment asks the Kern County Board of Supervisors to permit the Kern County Elections Division to provide any and all services necessary for conducting the November 3, 2026, general election and confirms the city will pay for those services. Staff said the language was an administrative correction that had been unintentionally omitted from the original resolution; the council approved the amendment unanimously.
Finally, council approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to finalize and execute Amendment No. 1 to the city's service agreement with GoTo Connect Technologies USA LLC for an amount not to exceed $21,600 (subject to manager and city-attorney review). Staff explained the city and police telephony would move from an older Mitel PBX system to a cloud-based GoTo Connect phone system; an advantage cited is that the provider supplies desktop phones as part of the arrangement and the system will unify dialing across departments.
Votes at a glance: each motion was moved and seconded and carried on unanimous roll-call votes with all members recorded as "aye."
