West Point adopts Emergency Operations Plan and authorizes salvage of police vehicle, radios donated to volunteer fire department

The West Point Town Council voted unanimously on March 25 to adopt a revised Emergency Operations Plan. Vice Mayor Christopher Vincent moved adoption, and council members voted 'Aye' on a roll-call.
The council also approved a Public Safety Committee recommendation to salvage a 2013 Ford Taurus (VIN: 1FAHP2M84DG132479) from the Police Department due to catastrophic engine failure and to donate nine out-of-service Motorola 7000 portable radios to the West Point Volunteer Fire Department for spare parts. Chief Tim Sawyer had advised that the vehicle was not economically viable to repair and provided serial numbers for the radios. Mr. Vincent moved to authorize the salvage and donation; Mr. Ragsdale seconded and the motion passed by unanimous roll-call vote.
