Susquehanna County Commissioners handled routine administrative business and several personnel actions during a meeting in which public comment was closed without speakers.
The board voted to close the public-comment period after a motion noted on the record; the chair called the voice vote and declared it carried. Following that, commissioners approved the minutes of July 8 and ratified electronic payments and other bills.
The board accepted, "with regret," the resignation/retirement of James Goldman from the county’s adult probation position. Commissioners also approved a personnel change removing the additional duties of firearms instructor from Mike Kacelnik (adult probation) with a pay reduction described in the motion as a one‑hour, $1 per hour cut. In a separate motion the board added the firearms‑instructor duties to Nicholas Canigliero (adult probation) with a one‑hour pay increase effective Sept. 3.
The commissioners approved Item 7 to list a 2013 Chevrolet Impala for bid or disposition. Each of the listed motions was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; the chair announced the motions as carried.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn; the chair announced the meeting closed at 9:04 a.m.
The actions recorded at this meeting were procedural and administrative; no formal ordinances or budget appropriations were enacted during the session.
