Fulcrum Concepts expresses interest in 133± airport acres; council authorizes discussions

Edwards told council that Fulcrum Concepts — a tenant and military contractor that works with C-27 aircraft — initially expressed interest in purchasing two acres but now would like to acquire the entire parcel #2 to consolidate operations (they currently have locations in Chesterfield and Parham Landing) and to build office and warehouse facilities and two new hangars.
Council members asked if the town had specific plans for the land; Edwards said the town had intended the acreage for airport expansion but had no immediate, detailed plans. Mr. Ragsdale asked whether Fulcrum might prefer leasing; Edwards said staff could pursue that option. The consensus of council was for staff to enter discussions about a possible sale of the parcel and to consider timber-sale options for the portion valued by the appraiser.
