Town Clerk Jen Peterson presented the warrant for the Sept. 1, 2026 state primary and reviewed early voting plans: early in‑person voting will begin Saturday Aug. 22 (11 a.m.–5 p.m.) and continue the following week during regular clerk hours, and Aug. 22 will be the final in‑person day to register. Polls on primary day will be open 7 a.m.–8 p.m.
A board member moved to approve the warrant as presented and after brief discussion on state reimbursement for certain election staffing hours the board voted unanimously to approve the warrant and asked the clerk to post it.
Separately, the board considered a one‑day liquor license for Sonia Baez at Veazey Memorial Park on July 25 for a private event. Members found inconsistent times in the application (5–10 p.m. versus park rules that require events to end at 9 p.m.). The board amended liquor-servicing hours to 5–9 p.m. (noting cleanup may continue to 10 p.m.) and required proof of a police detail for alcohol service; the amended license was approved unanimously.
