Town Administrator Loretta Powers told the Select Board on July 7 that recent outreach and grant activity is ongoing and staff have pursued several funding opportunities.
The clerk reported that 16 liens will be mailed the next day and that two outstanding liens from the prior year remain, with one of those properties potentially selling soon. According to the administrator's report, 24 people attended a Comprehensive Engagement session she said was held July 13; the minutes note that date as reported by staff and it appears to postdate the July 7 meeting, which may be a clerical error.
Powers said staff members attended seminars on housing grant opportunities and that staff member Erica completed an application for a $10,000 grant intended to help update town ordinances. The minutes also recorded that Bethel did not receive a Brownfield grant it had applied for and that Joelle received a safety grant.
No formal board votes were taken on the grants or liens at this meeting; the clerk will proceed with lien mailings.
