Board previewed K-5 ELA pilot replenishment purchase funded by state Section 35 MS grant

Miss Englam presented an informational preview of an upcoming purchase to replenish consumable materials for the district'level kindergarten through fifth-grade ELA Collaborative Classroom pilot. The purchase will be funded through the state's Section 35 MS grant, staff said.
The district is delaying final approval until the August board meeting so it can use the most accurate student enrollment numbers and the official 2025-26 state grant allocation from MDE. "We are waiting until August for this purchase so that we are able to utilize the most accurate student enrollment numbers and our official 25-26 state grant allocation," Miss Englam said. The vendor has guaranteed a 7-to-10-day rush turnaround to deliver materials once the purchase order is submitted.
Staff will return in August with exact purchase amounts and the board will consider approval at that time. The materials are intended to replenish consumables used during the pilot and to provide additional teacher materials based on any enrollment or section-number changes.
