Tetonia ratifies $4,900 transfer-switch purchase to repair damaged well power line

At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Tetonia City Council ratified the city's purchase of a transfer switch to repair a buried electrical line that supplies wells 1 and 2.
Public Works employee David Gallegos briefed the council on the damage, saying the line was struck during a 2024 fiber-line installation by Silverstar and that excavation will be needed to assess the buried damage between the wells. Council discussion noted that because the line was not located by the city during the fiber process, the city will be responsible for repairs. Gallegos told the council "the new transfer switch has already been ordered for approximately $4900."
Councilmember Blaine Ball moved to ratify the already purchased transfer switch and Councilmember Aaron Hansen seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The purchase and upcoming excavation and installation work will proceed under Public Works supervision and any further budget impacts will be reported to the council.
