Residents of Valley Shores raised a neighborhood drainage concern at the July 14 council meeting. Karen Bertelsen (28038 Sunrise Cir) and Derek O'Brien (28026 Sunrise Cir) told the council there is debris and an elevation problem near the community's entrance signage that is causing water to collect; they requested the city clean the plugged culvert and conduct an elevation check.
City Administrator Mike Gorman said the city plans to clean the culvert, confirm direction of water flow with an elevation check, and investigate the issue further. Bertelsen thanked city staff for their assistance during the process and the council asked staff to report back to the homeowners association with findings and next steps.
