Commissioners asked about credit, hours caps and coordinating with local high schools and FHTC; staff said they would follow existing hiring policies and explore school-credit options.
Later in the meeting, Commissioner McCurry moved to appoint Travis to the tourism and visitors board to fill the unexpired term of Jenny Chapman through Dec. 31, 2027, and to reconstitute the board to include a hotel/motel industry representative who resides in or operates a hospitality business in Coffey County. The motion passed unanimously.
