New Milford schedules first National Night Out Aug. 4 and other summer outreach

Ben named event partners including Housatonic Bounce Rentals and noted community vendors and demonstrations will participate.
Ben also promoted 'Lawyers in the Library' (July 23, 5:30–7:30 PM) as free, 20-minute legal consult sessions by reservation through the New Milford Public Library website, and a veterans-focused community outreach at the New Milford VFW (Saturday, 9–11 AM) where VA benefits professionals will help residents check disability claims, appeals, education benefits, burial options and income‑based wartime survivor benefits.
The announcements were presented as outreach and services rather than formal policy actions; no new budgets, ordinances or enforcement changes were announced during the update.
