Ben promoted two summer participation programs to encourage downtown visits: the Ice Cream Crawl, which runs through Aug. 31, and the Miles on Main storefront sticker program.
For the Ice Cream Crawl he said the town lists 10 participating shops on the mayor's page/newmilfordnow.org; participants must collect receipts from at least eight different shops and bring them to Town Hall to receive a 2026 Ice Cream Crawl T-shirt. Ben named examples of participating vendors, including Jesse's Ice Cream and Kimberly Farms, and highlighted specialty flavors and a root beer float option.
On Miles on Main, Ben said participating stores will place stickers in a booklet; once a participant shows the required number of stickers at Town Hall they receive a medallion. He described both programs as ways to explore local merchants and win small prizes, and said the town will run another Miles on Main program in the fall.
Neither program requires registration beyond following the instructions on the town website; Ben directed listeners to the mayor's page for full vendor lists and redemption instructions.
