Onamia council approves variance for 101 Evergreen Lane South; council member abstains

The Onamia City Council approved Resolution 2025-09E on Sept. 10, granting a variance for PID 22-041-1295 (101 Evergreen Lane South) to allow two accessory structures, reduced rear- and side-yard setbacks, and greater height than zoning normally permits. The variance application was submitted by Bill Hill; he abstained from the council vote, which passed with Council member Randy Anderson recorded as in favor.
The planning committee also reported a pending permit for Rural Cellular Corporation to upgrade an existing cell tower (adding two generators and a security fence), a prospective two-family and single-family building proposal from Mike Dahl for two adjacent parcels (no building permits yet), and a prospective purchaser interested in rezoning 110 Wall Street South from C1 to industrial to accommodate a machine shop. Staff included a blight-letter packet item regarding 507 Main Street West and asked police staff to try to locate an owner/contact for the property.
