The North Canton City Council approved a variance to allow three additional building signs at a commercial location on North Main Street to accommodate a new tenant, Plasm Source.
Cindy Bonucci, representing Archer Science Corporation and the incoming tenant at 700 North Main, asked the board to allow three extra wall signs to mirror the prior tenant’s signage pattern. Staff noted the current code, NCO 11.51.06, typically allows one sign per public entrance; the property has two public entrances. Staff also said the revised Main Street sign ordinance narrowed sign allowances and that this is the third similar variance request recently. Administration indicated it may consider revising the ordinance to reflect current business needs on Main Street.
After brief discussion the chair moved to approve the requested relief under Application ZB0A26-10700; members present voted in favor and the variance was granted.
