The Camden County Board of Commissioners recorded the following formal actions at its July 21 meeting.
• Approve agenda as amended: Commissioners removed agenda item 5 (Buchanan County Solid Waste Authority item) and added an information-technology item to the executive session. Motion carried.
• Approve minutes of July 7, 2026 public hearing and regular meeting: Motion carried.
• Surplus senior-center pool table (Item 1): Staff recommended surplus due to safety concerns; the board approved listing the table for sale on GovDeals.
• Contract award — roof replacement at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay (Item 2): The board approved awarding a contract to Garland Company Inc. under IGSA contract PW1925. Public Works reported the base expense at about $428,787 and estimated the county would receive roughly $42,878 in administrative revenue for overseeing the contract.
• Reappointments to Camden County Public Library Board of Trustees: Jackie Fry and Aletha (Letha) Massey were reappointed; motion carried.
• Planning Commission, District 2 appointment: Terry Landreth was nominated and appointed to the Camden County Planning Commission.
• Intergovernmental Agreement for parks and recreation: The board approved an IGA with the City of St. Marys, the City of Kingsland and the Camden County Public Service Authority to coordinate parks and programming; one commissioner asked staff to clarify fee and withdrawal mechanics during implementation.
• Executive session — authorize purchase of network equipment: In executive session the board authorized purchase of network equipment at a discounted price of $87,368.78.
