USD 217 board hears KASB updates, discusses preschool grant and school improvement work

Crawford said certified personnel evaluations are scheduled for Spring 2025 for 12 staff members, and the district audit date has been moved to Feb. 17, 2025. She noted that staff members Sherry Pinkley and Dana Kallenbach are scheduled to attend a Love and Logic conference in February; the minutes also list upcoming statewide conferences including the Kansas Superintendent conference in March and K‑ACTE Region V events in April and May.
The report on KASB called attention to a free translation app, Talking Points, that board members said can help with family engagement. The minutes describe the Seal of Biliteracy as a pathway for students who learn a second language to become translators after completing the program.
