County clerk Brooke Dudenhoeffer led the July 20 meeting and asked board members to raise their right hands for the oath. Each member recited: "I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State of Missouri, and that I will faithfully demean myself as a member of the Osage County Board of Equalization to fairly and impartially equalize the valuation of all real estate and tangible personal property taxable by the county, for the full year of 2026." The swearing-in covered the three county commissioners and the additional statutory members who serve on the BOE.
The commission noted the statutory requirement for a Board of Equalization under section 138.010 (Missouri) and listed the 2026 membership as Presiding Commissioner Darryl Griffin; Eastern District Commissioner Jeff Peters; Western District Commissioner Dale Logan; County surveyor Tim Hamburg; County assessor Tina Kammerich (non-voting); County clerk Brooke Dudenhoeffer (secretary of the BOE, non-voting); and two appointed citizen members, John Deeken and Irene Werdehausen.
County assessor Tina Kammerich reported that 417 impact statements were mailed to property owners and staff fielded 22 phone inquiries about assessments; she said two residents still disagreed with the assessed values but chose not to file appeals. Because the clerk recorded zero appeals, there were no hearings to convene.
Commissioner Dale Logan moved to adjourn; Commissioner Jeff Peters seconded. Presiding Commissioner Darryl Griffin called the vote and all three commissioners voted "aye." The meeting adjourned at 9:07 a.m. There were no formal BOE hearings scheduled as a result of appeals, and no additional actions were recorded at the session.
