The New Haven Board of Commissioners approved routine items and several small capital and maintenance items at its Jan. 16 meeting.
The board approved the Dec. 17, 2024 meeting minutes (motion by Commissioner Fred DeWitt; second by Commissioner Ruth Faulkner) and accepted the financial reports (motion by Commissioner Ruth Faulkner; second by Commissioner Mike Morris). Both motions passed unanimously, with all members voting in favor, according to the minutes.
Resident Bill Coy asked the board to install a streetlight at the intersection of Fourth Street and Center Street. Commissioner Fred DeWitt moved to install the streetlight; Commissioner Ruth Faulkner seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously to approve the installation.
The minutes also record updates on local facilities: Jamie Bryan said footers were poured and a carport installed (final metal siding and lighting to be completed), and the recreation team completed upgrades at Barry Hall including new paint, LED lighting, new switches and outlets, and replaced heating and air vents.
Ruth Faulkner moved to adjourn at 5:28 p.m.; Mike Morris seconded and the motion carried. No additional votes or implementation timelines for the streetlight or building projects appear in the minutes.
