Town board approves grant-services contract, personnel moves, infrastructure agreements and donations

At its July 21 meeting the Irondequoit Town Board approved multiple routine but operationally important items across departments.
The board authorized a contract (7A2026-1) with Catalyst Leadership to provide grant-writing, grant administration and staff training intended to increase the town's capacity to pursue external funding. Comptroller Diana reported an RFP process and a committee recommendation in support of the contract.
Under human resources, the board approved two promotions or appointments for the recreation department (7A2026-2), elevating two current part-time program employees to full-time recreation-leader roles, and approved a provisional human-resources and finance assistant for the comptroller/HR consolidated office (7A2026-3).
The police department accepted two unsolicited donations: a gift from Paula Rose (7A2026-4) and an anonymous donation of $25,000 (7A2026-5) intended to standardize officer handguns and red-dot sights. The police chief explained the provenance of the gifts and the intended equipment upgrades.
Public works items approved included an extension of the intermunicipal agreement with Monroe County for the stormwater coalition to meet permit requirements (7A2026-6), authorization for the supervisor to sign an intermunicipal agreement for Thomas Avenue sidewalk installation (7A2026-7), and approval to add a rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) at Eaton Road and Thomas to improve pedestrian safety (7A2026-8). The board also awarded an on-call roofing contract for town facilities to the lowest bidder, Spring Roofing and Sheet Metal (7A2026-9).
The clerk presented and the board approved a special-event license for the Rochester Area Triathletes to conduct the annual Rochester Triathlon (7A2026-10).
