Nicholas County Board of Education unanimously approves 2024–25 budget, salary changes and a series of personnel and facility actions

The board authorized several administrative and operational items by separate motions, each passed unanimously: filing a BG‑4 with the Kentucky Department of Education to close out the high school guaranteed energy savings contract (BG #20‑264); adopting amended certified and classified salary schedules for 2024–25; approving the district working budget and its submittal to KDE; and acknowledging the district’s Annual Public School District Acknowledgement of Best Practices, including data security guidance.
Other approved actions included facility‑use requests for youth basketball and community events (notably a Carlisle Rotary turkey bingo on Nov. 23), travel authorizations for the Nicholas County Migrant Program (Oct. 14–16, 2024, Denver) and for NCES students attending the MKMEA Honor Choir in Omaha (Oct. 17–20, 2024), and approval to hire emergency substitute teachers in anticipation of shortages.
