Bowdle council signs Notice to Proceed for sewer outfall project, debates contingency level

The City Council approved and signed the Notice to Proceed and the Dahme agreement for Bowdle's sewer outfall project at the Nov. 4 meeting, representatives from IMEG having submitted the documents for council action. Finance Officer Carrie Poirier told the council the project bid documents list a 1% contingency, while IMEG and NECOG recommended a larger contingency of 5% for the project. Council members discussed the difference and noted they could draw on previously identified funds if a larger contingency were needed.
The council also signed the October draw request from NECOG related to the project. Council Member Darryn Barnhardt moved to approve the documents and the draw request; Council Member Mike Gunderson seconded and all present voted yes.
No additional appropriation or contingency change was adopted at the Nov. 4 meeting; the council recorded its approval of the Notice to Proceed and the draw request and deferred any change in contingency until further information was available.
