The council approved the consent calendar, which included department minutes from BEDC, the library, the fire department and the planning and zoning board, and authorized posting of meeting dates on the city website (motion by Darryn Barnhardt; second by Amber Shaykett).
Finance Officer Carrie Poirier presented the September statements of accounts, receipts and expenses. The council approved city payroll and a detailed list of payment-of-claims after review (motion by Russ Maier; second by Rex Gab). The payment lists included line items such as the Dahme Construction Main Street invoice ($177,710.70), utility payments and a range of vendor claims.
Brian Scherr attended to represent a transfer of a retail on/off malt beverage and SD Farm Wine license from KLS Innovations, Inc. to Bowdle Pit Stop Inc.; the council approved the transfer (motion by Russ Maier; second by Amber Shaykett). The council discussed moving funds from Raymond James to SD Fit but tabled that item until more information is obtained.
The council set the next regular meeting for Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., and adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
