Maize approves up to $253,000 for emergency main lift-station repairs

Staff requested authorization of a Walters Morgan Construction estimate for $230,000 plus a 10% contingency ($23,000) to allow timely ordering of materials and to avoid delay.
Council moved and approved an emergency-repairs agreement with Walter's Morgan Construction Inc. for the base amount of $230,000 and a 10% contingency for a total not to exceed $253,000, authorizing the mayor to sign subject to city-attorney approval. Staff said work could begin within roughly 4–8 weeks depending on material lead times.
