Wythe County CPMT appoints new Health Department representative; policy updates and training noted

The Wythe County Community Policy & Management Team on June 23 accepted a retirement notice from Vicky Richardson of the Virginia Department of Health and unanimously appointed Sonja Jones to serve as the health department's representative to the CPMT. The appointment was made by motion of Stephen Bear, seconded by Billy Rice, and approved with no dissent.
Coordinator Blankenbeckler briefed the Team on outstanding administrative items: the VJCCCA Program Audit report (from Feb. 9) remains pending; OCS Administrative Memo 26-04 requires CPMTs to adopt written policies for management and retention of written and electronic records, and the Team's previously directed local-policy amendments will be finalized when the OCS policy is issued. The minutes record that the local policy was previously amended to confirm use of the Documentation of CHINS Eligibility Form (in use locally since July 2025).
The Team was also reminded that registration is open for the CSA Conference in Roanoke in October and that members who wish to attend should contact Coordinator Blankenbeckler to register.
During the meeting the Team invoked the closed-session authority in the Code of Virginia to discuss confidential client information; the minutes cite the closed-session statute and the Team adopted a certification upon reconvening. The minutes show the roll-call certification produced unanimous votes in support of the certification.
