Mayor Rick Boschee read the Healthcare Center's December 2024 financial statements and the council reviewed the month's operating results and year-to-date figures. The minutes record a monthly facility-wide loss (figure in the minutes is misformatted) and a year-to-date profit of $45,080.
The minutes break out the facility's accounts: the hospital showed a monthly loss and a reported YTD profit; the nursing home and clinic showed monthly and YTD losses as recorded in the minutes. The council did not direct further action on the financial report during the meeting but reviewed the statements presented.
Council approved personnel changes for January, hiring Elizabeth Stotz (long-term care activities, full time at $20.50) and Lindsey Harrison (LTC-CNA, full time at $19.10). The personnel motion was made by Darryn Barnhardt and seconded by Mike Gunderson; all voted yes.
The council also approved appointments to medical staff for two-year terms (Kristin Kinsman, MD; Lokender Bommisetty, MD; and Travis Petree, MD) and approved a medical cannabis possession policy that had been reviewed by Dr. Kessler and medical staff. Margaret Bobby moved to approve the appointments and the policy; Russ Maier seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously in favor.
The council recorded and reviewed an extensive list of January payroll and vendor payments for the Healthcare Center, including pharmacy, insurance and other operating vendors. The minutes list line-item claims and patient refunds.
The council's next steps were limited to continuing routine oversight: the financial statements and payment lists were entered into the record and no additional policy changes or follow-up assignments were recorded at the meeting.
