Britton‑Hecla board adopts multiple policy revisions; amendment attempts fail

The board voted to accept revisions to the district’s complaint procedure (2006), budget policy (3001), use of school property (3014 revisions A and B), returned and outstanding checks (3025), and superintendent policy (4015 converted to 4025). A motion by Grupe and second by Landreth carried on multiple committee recommendations; where recorded, motions passed with unanimous aye votes.
Board member Schuller moved to amend the 2006 Complaint Procedure Revision A to add extra language describing how the decision to place a complaint on a board agenda would be made; the motion to amend failed for lack of a second. A separate motion on 2006 Complaint Procedure Revision B — seeking to change a timing window from 180 days to 30 days — passed with Schuller recorded as the lone nay; Erickson, Landreth, Grupe and Zuehlke were recorded as voting aye.
Administration’s recommended revision to Policy 5001 (Compulsory Attendance and Excessive Absenteeism) was presented and accepted on a motion by Schuller, seconded by Grupe. The minutes record these policy updates as accepted; no additional procedural changes or referrals were recorded at the Dec. 9 meeting.
The board’s actions revise district policy language per committee and administrative recommendations; the minutes do not show any new policy statements beyond those adopted by motion.
