At its Oct. 15 meeting the Britton-Hecla School District 45-4 board approved the business manager’s reports, accepted financial statements and bills, amended the district mileage reimbursement rate to $0.67 per mile, and approved a consent agenda that included surplusing a 2011 school bus and offering two assistant varsity track working agreements.
Business Manager Madisyn Neiber presented fund balances and line-item expenditures. The minutes record a General Fund beginning balance of $1,011,335.91 and an ending balance of $839,629.54 after recorded revenues and expenditures. The minutes list detailed vendor payments and fund totals across Capital Outlay, Special Education, Food Service and Enterprise funds.
Under the consent agenda the board declared a 2011 International school bus (189,000 miles) surplus with an estimated scrap value of $300 and approved offering working agreements to Katrina Knecht and Jenna Nordquist as assistant varsity track coaches at $2,700 each.
The board also accepted revisions to the district consolidated application during the meeting.
Why it matters: Approving financial reports and the consent agenda finalizes routine district business, authorizes disposal of district property and confirms hires for the athletics program. The mileage-rate change affects future staff and volunteer reimbursement for travel costs.
What’s next: Annual Financial Report signoff and any follow-up accounting tasks will proceed through the Business Office per the board’s action.
