Miss Lacey Edwards presented the proposed DCPS 2026–27 salary scales and said the package includes a 3.5% average base increase plus step raises for all staff. She told the board the scales incorporate milestone steps (including a newly added milestone at step 15 for assistant principals) and that many step increases range from 0.5% to higher amounts depending on years of service.
Edwards said part-time rates (aids, cooks and janitors) will be increased by $0.50 per hour and substitution rates will receive an average 4% increase. She reported the district is budgeted for 306 full-time positions and 83 part-time positions.
After brief positive comments from board members, the board moved, seconded and approved the salary scale as presented.
