T.P. Rural Fire Protection District No. 2 approves routine measures, sets 1st Due launch for June 1

The T.P. Rural Fire Protection District No. 2 approved routine administrative items at its April 28, 2025, meeting in Amite, adopting the March 24 minutes, authorizing the disposal of one computer asset and approving the monthly budget and check register.
The board voted unanimously on the recorded motions. Louis Joseph moved to adopt the March 24 minutes, Joseph Havis seconded and the roll-call vote recorded Sinagra, Ingraffia, Joseph, Havis, Ridgel, Mayeaux, Wells, Vial, Hyde and Cieutat as voting yea. Joseph also moved the disposal of computer asset number 3582, a motion seconded by Darrell Sinagra and carried on a unanimous roll call. Later, Joseph moved, and David Vial seconded, approval of the monthly budget and check register; that motion likewise passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
In an administrative update, the district was told that 1st Due software is expected to be ready to launch on June 1. The report was given as an operational timeline item for the district’s software rollout.
During commissioners’ privileges, Commissioner Joey Mayeaux asked that the procurement process allow the owner of US Pump an opportunity to bid. The minutes state that Atkins is in contact with the owner and plans to tour the US Pump facility; no formal directive or procurement decision was recorded beyond that statement.
The board introduced Allen Schrimsher as the Kentwood Fire chief during the meeting. With no further business, Lionell Wells moved to adjourn; the motion carried with no opposition.
