County previews surplus-asset hearing; three properties and old Expo water truck discussed

Finance Director Sean Roway and administrative staff said the hearing list includes three residential properties on 1st Avenue and various replaced vehicles and equipment. Non-property items will generally be sold through auction vendors or resellers, while real-estate parcels will be listed at market value with a contracted real-estate agent.
An administrative staff member noted one change to the draft surplus list: a 1975 Ford water truck currently listed under the Expo Center may be removed because a group has expressed interest in restoring it for arena use. "So that is something that I guess they've been in dire need, and they wanted a new water truck," the staff member said, adding that the vehicle is in rough shape and it remains uncertain whether the restoration will proceed.
Jason Jellum, the fleet supervisor, is scheduled to attend the hearing to answer questions about vehicles. The board did not take action at the agenda-review meeting; the surplus declaration and approval will be considered at the formal hearing.
