Priest River council approves consent agenda, service agreements and fund transfer; new officer sworn in

The Priest River City Council unanimously approved a consent agenda and several separate motions at its Aug. 5, 2024, meeting, passing routine resolutions, professional services agreements and a fund transfer.
Council Member Turner moved to approve the consent agenda, which included approval of previous minutes (CC 07/15/24, CCSP 07/22/24), payables, Resolution 24-048 (Silver Spike 55+ planned unit development and subdivision development agreement), Resolution 24-049 (Priest River Happy Agers, Inc. real property lease at 336 E Jackson Avenue contingent on acquisition from Bonner County) and Resolution 24-050 (J7 Contracting, Inc. change order #1 for the Larch Street sewer improvements project). Council Member Mullaley seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Under new business, Council Member Mullaley moved and Council Member Brower seconded approval of a professional services agreement with Merrick & Company for a technical memorandum regarding the backwash basin, not to exceed $3,000. The motion passed unanimously. The council also approved a professional services agreement with West Bonner County School District #83 to provide school resource officer services after a motion by Mullaley and second by Turner.
The council approved a Hold Harmless Agreement with Valeri Croy of 93 McKinley Street allowing city staff to obtain camera footage of her private sewer line (motion by Mullaley; second by Brower). Council then approved Resolution 24-051 authorizing a transfer of funds with the state investment pool (motion by Mullaley; second by Turner). All motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously.
Police Chief McLain introduced Scott Kennedy as a new hire in the police department, and City Clerk/Treasurer Laurel Thomas administered his oath of office.
The council adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
