Summary
On Sept. 9 the Preston City Council approved Ordinance 2024-7 (rezoning), adopted Resolution #167 for Idaho CDBG Downtown Revitalization citizen participation, approved routine bills and the treasurer’s report, approved several business licenses, tabled a Food Pantry repair proposal, and met in executive session on personnel.
The Preston City Council took several formal actions at its Sept. 9 meeting:
- Consent calendar: Approved the Aug. 26, 2024 minutes (motion passed; Councilmember Todd Thomas abstained; Councilmembers Brent Dodge and Chris Larsen voted aye). Approved bills through Sept. 9, 2024 and the Treasurer’s Monthly Report (unanimous approval).
- Business licenses: The council approved business licenses for Sidney Dirilo; Anna Myhe Le (The Secret Mantra); Cory Nielsen (Preston Nails & Spa); and State Line Construction.
- Rezoning: Introduced and adopted Ordinance 2024-7 to reclassify certain parcels at approximately 600 North State per the Batista LLC application (unanimous approval). See separate report for debate and public comment.
- Resolution #167: Approved a resolution certifying citizen participation for the Idaho Community Development Block Grant (Downtown Revitalization) and authorized the mayor to sign (unanimous approval).
- Food Pantry building: Joel Creagor reported structural and freezer issues at the Food Pantry building; the council moved to table the matter to allow the pantry to prepare a repair proposal (unanimous approval).
- Executive session: Council voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel under Idaho Code 74-206(1)(b); the council met in executive session from 6:51 P.M. to 7:12 P.M. and then adjourned at 7:12 P.M.
