Superintendent Dena Naccarato told the Post Falls School District No. 273 board on Aug. 11 that the district was ranked No. 1 in large schools for K'03 literacy for the second consecutive year and thanked elementary principals, teachers and students for their work.
Assistant Superintendent Janelle Baillie reported summer-school participation and completion figures: 70 middle school students attended summer school, of whom 60 completed credits; 120 high school students attended and 77 made up credits, with a 94% high school summer-school attendance rate. Assistant Superintendent Scott Ross summarized the elementary PACE program attendance (87 students in math and reading; 101 in science) and introduced Sarah Triphahn as his replacement and the interim principal at Ponderosa for the coming year.
Chief Financial Officer Josh Gittel said the new audit firm will conduct a two-day site visit at the end of August, and noted that federal funds are being released while the state has signaled a possible 2'6% holdback for the 2026'2027 fiscal year.
