The Town of Chancellor Board of Trustees approved a parade route for the Chancellor Fire Department's 120th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, and allowed public consumption of alcohol in a designated area between the Chancellor Fire Station and the Chancellor Bar on Main Street from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Fire Chief Jeremy Nettifee described planned activities for the event — parade, meal, water fights, open museum hours and a movie — and raised the possibility of installing cameras at the fire station; the minutes note more information is needed and no motion was taken on cameras.
Trustee Jenni Bartmann moved to approve the parade route beginning at 3:30 p.m.; Trustee Zachary Knock seconded and the motion carried. Bartmann later moved to allow public consumption of alcohol in the area directly between the Chancellor Fire Station and the Chancellor Bar on Main Street on Aug. 9 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Knock seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes do not record conditions or special licensing requirements attached to the alcohol allowance; the board also discussed municipal participation in the parade and approved related administrative motions (for example, travel and meal reimbursements for staff related to other items) elsewhere in the agenda.
