Roberts council approves routine business, hears park and lease updates

The Roberts City Council on Nov. 12 handled routine agenda business and received several project updates.
The council approved the Oct. 8 meeting minutes and routine bills by unanimous roll-call votes. James Zillinger moved to approve a building permit for 670 N 2872 E; the motion was seconded and passed. Council reviewed a new business license application for AL-SHARPS-4U, described in the packet as a home-based knife-sharpening business at 2861 E 650 N, and the council moved to approve the license application.
Council received updates on the water facility planning study: Jaden Jackson said roughly 80% of the study is complete and that Keller Associates would meet with Mayor Berlin and Ron to review options for emerging contaminants. Mustang Park work was reported mostly complete: paths and the basketball pad were installed, but paint and sod remain to be finished in the spring; some manufacturer items must be completed before a restroom building can open to the public.
On city-owned rental properties, council discussed two lease files. For the Community Council of Idaho (CCI) trailer at 2874 E 650 N the clinic is no longer operating and the trailer remains unused; council instructed Mayor Berlin to send a letter requiring removal within 90 days or increase rent to $1,000 per month if the trailer remains. Council also asked the mayor to meet with the owners of Lucy's Pizzeria to review that lease. Council deferred detailed review of the personnel manual because members had not had time to read it.
Maintenance staff reported a brief water-pressure fluctuation tied to Roberts Elementary sprinkler testing and that divers cleaned the water storage tank. With no further business, the council approved a motion to adjourn.
