Roberts council reviews water planning, schedules public comment and considers $1.8M design contract

Keller & Associates presented a professional services contract for the Water Facilities Improvement Project totaling $1,800,550. The scope included structural design for buildings, selection of equipment, pilot testing to determine appropriate treatment media, and procurement steps that would allow the city to pre-purchase equipment for scheduling. Mayor Robert (BJ) Berlin recommended approval. Benjamin Poston moved to sign the contract and James Zillinger seconded; the mayor called for a roll-call vote and the clerk recorded the vote (the transcript does not include the roll-call tally).
Jackson also updated the council on the wastewater collection project, reporting a short mobilization delay for contractor Edstrum because a lift-station component was incomplete and stating that staging should begin this week.
On park infrastructure, Jackson and Mayor Berlin said the new bathrooms at Mustang Park have toilet issues. The city and Mountain West Precast disagreed on the cause; the council arranged for a third-party plumbing contractor to inspect and determine the remediation.
