Roberts wins $2 million EPA grant for wastewater work; council approves engineering, administration and operator contracts

Taci Stoddard of Altura said the city and Altura are "awaiting information on how the funds will be distributed."
Jaden Jackson of Keller Associates said the project's design is about 90% complete and that Keller will finish the remaining 10% after the EPA provides any design requirements. "The design is 90% completed," Jackson said, and final design work depends on EPA direction.
Council approved Keller Associates' engineering proposal and later approved the Keller contract for the water study and subsequent projects by roll-call votes. Altura was the sole proposer for administrative services for the water project; the council approved Altura's administrative services proposal. The council also approved a contract with Mountain West Environmental for certified operators to support operations related to the city's water and wastewater systems.
In related infrastructure work, Jackson said Mountain West Precast scheduled park restroom installation for Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, and Knife River will complete final site prep. Taci Stoddard said Dennis Porter, director of the Idaho Department of Commerce Block Grant Program, offered up to $45,000 to replace or repair the Mustang Park basketball court by amending the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award; the city will collect cost estimates to determine whether to accept the offer.
