Two members of the public spoke during the constituency comment period at the start of the Aug. 12 meeting.
Hesston Library Director Jackie Nelson asked the council and city staff to work with the library to add directional signage at three locations around town to help residents and visitors find the library.
Resident Ruth Steinkirchner of 217 S. Lancaster requested that the sale and discharge of fireworks be banned inside the city limits. Mayor David Kauffman acknowledged both comments and moved on to the next agenda item; the minutes do not record further council discussion or any referral to staff on the fireworks request.
