Hesston council approves multiple equipment purchases, engineering contract and appointments

Michael Wallace moved to appoint Police Chief Chris Eilert to the Harvey County 911 Advisory Board; Brad Unruh seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Wallace also moved to approve a Walters Morgan quote of $70,000 to improve the aeration system at the wastewater treatment plant with funds coming from the Utility Maintenance Fund; Clare Moore seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
Clare Moore moved to purchase a Toro Grounds Master 7210 mower and accessories for the Parks Department for $43,022.51 from Professional Turf Products; Michael Wallace seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Council approved a $30,100 engineering services quote from Schwab Eaton for the East-West Trail Project after a motion by Michael Wallace and second by Brad Unruh; that motion carried 5-0. Clare Moore moved to reappoint City Administrator Gary Emry to the KMGA Board of Directors for a two-year term starting Sept. 1, 2024; Brad Unruh seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
