Hesston council adopts 2024 public-offense and traffic codes and approves golf-equipment lease

The Hesston City Council voted on Aug. 12 to update municipal code by adopting the 2024 Uniform Public Offense Code and the 2024 Standard Traffic Ordinance and authorized a lease-purchase for golf-course equipment.
Clare Moore moved to approve Ordinance No. 020-2024-186 to incorporate the 2024 Uniform Public Offense Code into the Hesston City Code; Larry Fuqua seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Later the council approved Ordinance No. 020-2024-187 to incorporate the 2024 Standard Traffic Ordinance; Brad Unruh moved, Susan Swartzendruber seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
The council also approved Ordinance No. 010-2024-232 authorizing purchase of golf mowers and related equipment under a lease purchase agreement with The Citizens State Bank. The lease principal is $213,600, the term is 72 months and the stated interest rate is 4.45%. Clare Moore moved to approve the ordinance and Brad Unruh seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
